October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and organizations like the Breast Cancer Charities of America (BCCA) and Susan G. Komen need YOUR help to spread awareness, educate others, and make a difference in the lives of those who are currently battling breast cancer.
According to the American Cancer Society, in the U.S. in 2018, it’s estimated that there will be 266,120 new cases of invasive breast cancer with 40,920 breast cancer deaths for women and 2,550 new cases of invasive breast cancer with 480 breast cancer deaths for men. While these numbers are staggering, due to the work of researchers funded by the financial support of donors, we have made progress. The breast cancer mortality rate has declined by 39% in the U.S. from 1989 to 2015. In an effort to continue to make an impact, MedPro encourages you to “Go PINK” during the month of October with these 7 ways to show your support for the women and men affected by breast cancer.
