MedPro Healthcare Staffing is proud to announce it has far surpassed its initial Light the Night goal of reaching $12,200 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), having raised $21,572, which will go toward research in ‘bringing light to the darkness of cancer’.
Light the Night is an annual series of fundraising campaigns in which benefit the LLS’s cancer research initiatives. Each year, organizations and families form teams to compete in raising money for the mission. The LLS has invested nearly $1.3 billion toward cancer research to date, including $431 million provided to families for financial assistance. In fact, the LLS has helped advance 12-of-14 blood cancer therapies. The organization’s funding has also provided to 250 research grants around the world.
MedPro’s philanthropic committee, MedPro Gives, championed this initiative as its 170+ corporate employees split into five teams. Each team held unique events to raise over $21,000 like, bake sales, food trucks, silent auctions and juice bars. In its first year of participation, MedPro earned the LLS Rookie of the Year award and finished in the Top 3 of money raised by corporate teams (Palm Beach-Treasure Coast region). On Thursday, Nov. 12, employees also gathered to ‘light the night’ with official red lanterns, provided by the LLS, in support of all those struggling with the disease.
