MedPro International Recruitment Team Visits Nairobi, Kenya

The MedPro International Recruitment Team met with more than 1000 healthcare professionals over three days in Nairobi, Kenya, in what is expected to be the first of many successful trips to Africa.

Anna Carbonell, Stephanie Pennington, Arman Barbuco, and Jonathan Candella traveled to Nairobi to connect with healthcare professionals looking to launch their careers in the United States. The team held two Live recruitment Events on September 9 and 10 and one Meet and Greet on September 11 to familiarize participants and explain the benefits of joining MedPro International.

The team held one-on-one interviews and signed up more than 400 nurses and med techs for U.S. assignments. “We were thrilled to visit Nairobi,” said Carbonell, International Recruitment Team Lead. “We met so many qualified healthcare professionals looking to work in the United States.” The team also toured and met with representatives of several universities and hospitals in hopes of connecting and building relationships with Kenyan healthcare facilities. With U.S. healthcare facilities struggling to fill staffing positions, successful recruiting trips are vital to sustaining quality healthcare in the U.S.,” said Carbonell.

Foreign-educated registered nurses make up approximately 5.4 percent of the total number of registered nurses in the U.S., according to the American Association of International Healthcare Recruitment (AAIHR).

MedPro International is preparing to host additional recruitment trips in the Philippines. But you don’t have to wait until our next recruitment event to kick-start your American dream.
